Thermofusion is a simple and fast welding method for joining polyethylene pipes and their accessories. The surface of the parts to be joined are heated to fusion temperature and are joined by application of pressure, with mechanical or hydraulic action, according to the size of the pipe and without using additional joining elements.

Suitable for joining pipes of the same ø / thickness ratio, with diameters from 32 mm to 630 mm.

This technique produces a permanent and effective union, and is economical.

The surfaces to be welded must be compressed against the thermoelement with a force that is proportional to the diameter of the pipe and then it must be reduced to a determined value of pressure, in order that the faces absorb the heat necessary for the polyfusion. This decrease causes the formation of a regular bead around the circumference, which is directly related to the thickness of the tube.
